The Woodbury Wildlife Area Shooting Range, operated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife, is now open on Wednesdays beginning June 9. This 19,252-acre wildlife area is located near Coshocton in Coshocton County.

The Woodbury Wildlife Area Shooting Range features include accessible parking, shooting benches, and restroom facilities. The rifle and pistol range offers 38 wooden and 12 concrete benches under a shelter. Shooting distances of 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards are available. An archery target range offers shooting distances from 10 to 40 yards and there is a walk-through archery course with 23 targets and a shooting tower. An official skeet and trap field is available for an additional fee.

Range users age 18 and older are required to purchase either an annual shooting range permit ($24), an annual shooting range permit and hunting license combo ($29.12), or a one-day shooting range permit ($5) before visiting the range. Daily permits may be used to buy rounds of skeet or trap. One extra daily permit, in addition to an entry permit, buys one round of trap or skeet. All permit options are available at hunting and fishing license outlets, online at wildohio.gov, or via the HuntFish OH mobile app. Permits are not sold at the shooting range.

Shooters age 17 and under do not need to purchase a permit, but are required to be accompanied by and directly monitored by a permitted adult age 18 years or older.

The rifle and pistol range is open annually from March 1 to Dec. 31 (except major holidays), Wednesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Shooting ceases at 4:40 p.m. The range is closed Sept. 13-23, 2021.

View range rules prior to entering the range at wildohio.gov. For questions or concerns, call the Woodbury Range at 740-327-2109 or Woodbury Wildlife Area at 740-824-3211.
