Writing contest announced

The Write-On Writers Guild is sponsoring its second summer writing contest. Winning entries will be read at the Seventh annual Writers Workshop set for Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Frontier Power Community Room, 770 S. Second St. in Coshocton.
Registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. Featured speaker will be Wendy Koile, there will be a creative writing exercise, open mic, soup lunch, free critiquing, raffle baskets, a chance to read the winning entries, and more. Cost to attend is $15 per person and the workshop will run until approximately 4 p.m.
There is a 500-word limit for the writing contest. Categories include: Short stories, poems, essays, and letters. Choose your own topic. Two entries per person are allowed. No graphic or political entries. All entries should be “G” rated. Write-On Writers Guild members are not eligible.
Contest entries are due by Monday, Aug. 31. They can be mailed to Write-On Writers Guild, c/o Sally S. Kinkade, 23010 TR 420, Coshocton, OH 43812, or e-mailed to gkinade420@gmail.com.
