Yvonne “Vonnie” Ross
Yvonne “Vonnie” Ross, age 92, of Coshocton, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021. She was born on January 17, 1929, in Newcomerstown, Ohio to the late Jasper and Anna (Rice) McCall.
Vonnie was a life member of St. Andrew’s AME Church of Coshocton. She began professionally singing in 1948, with the musical group Wings Over Jordan and traveled all over the world with them. She loved to bargain shop and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Tony Ross and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several foster children, who raised as her own, including Vincent Ross Scott, John Ross Scott, and Ellen Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Along with her parents, Vonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel Ross, sister Clarice Tate and two brothers who passed away as small children.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at South Lawn Cemetery. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
